Mr. Slodov began his career as a general practitioner, including landlord-tenant; domestic relations; juvenile abuse, dependency, neglect and unruly; criminal misdemeanor and felony; bankruptcy; probate; contract litigation and federal civil litigation. Mr. Slodov joined Javitch, Block and Rathbone in Cleveland, Ohio, in their commercial and civil litigation practice group in 1997. In 2004, Mr. Slodov became the firm’s compliance officer and lead defense counsel, protecting the firm and its clients when they were sued by consumers for alleged FDCPA violations and related state law claims.
In 2012, Mr. Slodov joined the law firm of Sessions, Fishman, Nathan & Israel, LLC’s consumer litigation and compliance group. Between 2012 and 2017, Mr. Slodov appeared as counsel in over 200 civil actions in various federal
courts, focusing on individual and class actions under the FDCPA, TCPA, FCRA, UDAAP, CSPA and Bankruptcy Code; approximately 90% were resolved and closed by the end of 2017.
He has a distinguished career in trial and appellate courts and has extensive experience with all aspects of consumer law and regulatory compliance issues.
In 2018, Mr. Slodov formed the Law Office of Michael D. Slodov, LLC with the goal of providing experienced counsel to individuals and businesses involving claims under the FDCPA, TCPA, FCRA, UDAAP, CSPA and Bankruptcy Code.
